(2 TIM. 3:1ff.; 4:3ff.)). THEIR SCHOLARS DID NOT EVEN CATCH ON TO THE RABBINIC POLEMIC OF SHAUL/PAUL. IT IS NOT THAT DIFFICULT IF ONE BEGINS FIRST WITH THE TEACHINGS OF YESHUA JESUS. ANOTHER CHECK IS WITH THE TEACHINGS OF THE APOSTLES OTHER THAN SHAUL/PAUL. STILL ANOTHER CHECK IS IN THE REST OF THE WRITINGS OF SHAUL/PAUL. FOR WHEN ALL OF HIS WRITINGS ARE EXAMINED, FOR THE GREATEST PART HE REALLY WAS TEACHING THE SAME THING THAT YESHUA JESUS WAS TEACHING, HE JUST DID IT IN A DIFFERENT WAY IN ORDER TO COMBAT THE PREVAILING BELIEF OF THAT TIME THAT THE LAW OF MOSES WAS A REQUIREMENT FOR SALVATION (SHAUL/PAUL'S MISSION WAS TO REMOVE THE LAW OF MOSES FROM BEING A SALVATION REQUIREMENT). THIS, THE LAW OF MOSES, WAS THE GREATEST "WORK" THAT HE WAS COMBATTING AND HE USED THE TOOLS BY WHICH HE WAS HIGHLY TRAINED--RABBINIC EXEGESIS AND POLEMIC. UPON CLOSE EXAMINATION, SHAUL/PAUL WAS NOT AND COULD NOT HAVE BEEN TEACHING THAT OBEDIENCE WAS OPTIONAL. IF HE HAD BEEN, HE WOULD HAVE BEEN A HERETIC BECAUSE THIS GOES FLATLY AGAINST WHAT YESHUA JESUS WAS AND IS TEACHING. THIS IS CLEAR THROUGHOUT YESHUA JESUS' TEACHINGS AND CAN BEEN SEEN IN THE FINAL WARNINGS IN THE LETTERS TO THE CHURCHES IN REVELATION, WHICH MANY PROTESTANT TEACHERS TWIST IN ORDER TO AVOID HAVING TO OBEY YESHUA JESUS' TEACHINGS. (THEY SAY THAT THEY ARE ONLY FOR CERTAIN TIME PERIODS. WHILE IS IT POSSIBLE THAT THERE MIGHT BE AN ELEMENT OF TRUTH IN THIS, THEY FAIL TO SEE THAT THESE LETTERS WERE FOR REAL CHURCHES AT THAT TIME AND THE REASON THAT THEY WERE RECORDED WAS BECAUSE THEY WERE AND ARE REAL WARNINGS FOR ALL OF THE CHURCH FOR ALL OF TIME.) IF YOU BELIEVE THAT GOD IS NOT REQUIRING HIS FOLLOWERS TO BE FIGHTING AGAINST SIN AND STRIVING FOR OBEDIENCE, YOU HAVE MOST CERTAINLY BEEN DECEIVED. YOU HAVE FALLEN TO THE LIE OF SATAN AS RECORDED IN GEN. 3 ("YOU WILL NOT SURELY DIE" IF YOU EAT A LITTLE FRUIT (NIV)).

What is the greatest misunderstanding within Christianity? One of the greatest has to do with The Covenant Command of the New Covenant. Those who do not understand this are misunderstanding a great deal about the Scriptures and YHWH's intended Christianity. The Covenant Command of the New Covenant shows that the New Covenant is an Hebraic covenant and that it is a spiritual continuation (not saying that the Law of Moses is still in effect; see "Is The Law of Moses Binding Today?") and spiritual elevation of the Law of Moses (see Hebrew Old Covenant "Roots"). Question: What is the difference between a cult and a denomination that does not allow its members to question the beliefs of the denomination? Does your denomination allow you to question their beliefs? Unauthorized denominations are sinful because they are dividing up the Church (1 Cor. 1-3; Titus 3:10) without Scriptural authority. They are going against the teaching of Shaul Paul in 1 Cor. 4:6 (NIV) "...'Do not go beyond what is written.' Then you will not take pride in one man over against another."

(For instance, while Yeshua Jesus is in a sense equal to YHWH (Jn. 5:18; Phil. 2:6), He Himself said that YHWH was greater than He was (Jn. 14:28). Yet people have been fed such a simplified gospel (and many preachers are admittedly preaching on a 3rd/4th grade level) that many cannot believe that both things can be true--that Yeshua Jesus can in a sense be equal to YHWH while at the same time YHWH is even greater than Yeshua Jesus (Consider the eternal relationship of Father/parent and Son/child). Yet this is what the Scriptures clearly teach (and there are more Scriptures). YHWH prophesied that in the last days knowledge would increase. It has increased in many areas such as in the sciences and technology, but it appears that when it comes to Bible, the Church world is in a stalemate of unmoving denominational (sinful-1 Cor. 1-3; Titus 3:10) divisivness and overly simplistic (and in some cases very wrong) theological and religious tradition, even choosing to divide over whether Yeshua Jesus is exactly equal to YHWH or just below Him, and even when the Scriptures give no authority to divide over such issues but rather teaches that unneccessary division is sinful (1 Cor. 1-3; Titus 3:10). (Or else the Church has chosen to believe nothing at all--that everything is acceptable.) It is past time for the Church to increase in its knowledge and understanding of the real Scriptures--not the biased and inaccurate translations. (Truly, trying to do systematic theology from a translation is about like trying to be an expert on an ancient deceased foreign person and only using the interpretations and writings of one other person of your own nationality, and a person who themselves are not very well understood (their biases, slants, agendas, limitations, abilities, theologies, etc.)--it cannot be done accurately because translators (who themselves have often not understood the original Scriptures well enough) have made too many (and sometimes incorrect!) decisions for you. It cannot be done accurately with the popular translations and the translations that are coming from traditional and denominational biases.))

LOVINGLY WORKING TOWARD A NON-DENOMINATIONAL CHRISTIANITY CENTERED ON MESSIAH CHRIST AND THE APOSTOLIC SCRIPTURES AND WHAT THE SCRIPTURES MEANT TO THE (Jewish) APOSTLES (they were all Jewish--and cf. Jn. 4:22 where Yeshua Jesus said that "salvation is from the Jews." The Catholic Church has evolved away from the apostolic Scriptures and the Protestant Church began apart from its Hebraic roots and as such it did not understand the center of Christianity and this shows in its endless fragmentation. The Protestant Church knew some things to reform away from, but without the understanding of the Hebraic roots of the Church it did not know exactly what it was that it needed to reform to! This website is the result of many years of searching through the Scriptures seeking to understand and return to the apostolic Church of the Scriptures, the intended Church of YHWH.

MANY DON'T UNDERSTAND THEIR BIBLES VERY WELL (But of course this does not mean that we do not love them!) - WILL YOUR THEOLOGY STAND UP TO THE CHALLENGE? WILL YOUR THEOLOGY PASS THE TEST?

Do you have what it takes to do the right thing? What does truth look like? (Please pardon our construction!) Wisdom is learning where we're wrong so we can make it right! (Should we want to see that we are more wrong now (rather than later) and be on the journey of growing, or just not be growing and wait until the Judgment to see how wrong we are?)

Think about it: is the wrong Church really the Church that is teaching faithfulness and holiness and following and obeying Yeshua Jesus (just like the earliest Christian records)? Or is the wrong church the church that more closely fits 2 Thess. 2:9-12 and 2 Tim. 3:1-9? (Notice that these Scriptures are from Shaul/Paul!)

Many teach, but many don't really understand their ancient and idiomatic Scriptures, to the detriment and even the destruction of many (cf. 2 Pet. 3:14-18)! Among the greatest factors that have led to misunderstanding the Scriptures: missing the understanding of the Hebraic roots of Christianity (no, we're not under the Law of Moses, but if we do not understand the connections between Christianity and the Law of Moses, we're probably misunderstanding biblical Christianity!); missing the understanding of The Covenant Command of the New Covenant; and misunderstanding the rabbinic writings of rabbi Shaul/Paul (see 2 Pet. 3:14-18; "...not by works..." being rabbinic argument, See "The Faith That Paul Taught/ (Toward Understanding Paul)"; for an example of rabbinic argumentation see response #30 in "Questions & Responses!", see also "Messianic Prophecies"; and come to find out, at least most of the other Bible writers were also Jewish!) In fact, if your teachers do not understand the Hebraic roots of Christianity, then they probably do not understand their New Covenant Scriptures very well, or the End Times.

Warning! If you think that you do not have to be following and obeying Yeshua Jesus in order to be saved, this is very serious, you need to question what you have been taught! This website shows, among many other things, that those who are not following and obeying Yeshua Jesus will be lost, even if they believe and/or trust that they are saved. Read Mt. 28:18-20; Jn. 12:48; Mt. 17:5; Mk. 9:7; Lk. 9:35; Jn. 6:63, 68; Mt. 25 and Rev. 2-3!. Even rabbi Shaul/Paul said "Be becoming imitators of me, just as also I am an imitator of Mashiach/Messiah/Christ." (1 Cor. 11:1). And he taught that Yeshua Jesus is THE Lord/Master/Owner/Ruler (Rom. 10:9; 1 Cor. 1:9; 15:25-27; and actually all through his writings). And see what he taught about Christians living in sin (1 Cor. 5). See also Rom. 11:20-21! You have been warned. Please wake up. And please show and warn others! And in agreement with what some others say, and in agreement with the greatest commandment, either Yeshua Jesus is fully Lord/Master/Ruler/Owner, or He is not Lord/Master/Ruler/Owner at all. Even rabbi Shaul/Paul taught that Christians will be judged according to their works (2 Cor. 5:10; cf. Gal. 5:19-21) and according to Yeshua Jesus, there will be many Christians who will not pass the test (Mt. 13:1-9, 18-23; Mk. 4:1-20; Lk. 8:4-15; Mt. 25!; Lk. 12:42-48; Rev. 2-3, etc.). Paul warns about this in Rom. 11:20-21. See "Some Important Things Being Missed!" to see what is the Center of Christianity!

Jesus said that the way of salvation was the difficult way. He said: "Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, an only a few find it." (Mt. 7:13-14, NIV). He even said to: "Make every effort [This is work!] to enter through the narrow door, because many, I [the Truth and the Word of God] tell you, will try to enter and will not be able to." (Lk. 13:24, NIV). This is not what I hear Evangelicalism teaching. (Keep in mind Mt. 28:18-20 where Yeshua Jesus commanded for everything that He commanded His disciples to be taught to all the world, which means all the Gentiles.)

Don't get us wrong, there are a lot of great and saved evangelicals and there are a lot of great evangelical teachings, but at least some of Evangelicalism teaches "just believe and sit in the Jesus chair, trusting Him for your salvation and you will be saved!" (Repentance, fighting against sin, keeping any command of God, even the Greatest Commandments, even keeping any of the rest of all of the Bible including following and obeying Yeshua Jesus not being required!) Yet Yeshua Jesus taught His disciples that they must be placing themselves not on His chair, but upon their own crosses, saying: "If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me." (Lk. 9:23, NIV). One of these fits with the Greatest Commandments, one of these does not. One of these fits with self-centered "Christians," one of these fits with God-centered and God-focused, transformed (Rom. 12:1-2) Christians. One of these fits with the worldly Church (2 Thess. 2:9-12 and 2 Tim. 3:1-9); one of these fits with the Christianity that Yeshua Jesus lived and taught (s. Mt. 28:18-20).

Yet it does appear that for many, absolutely everything in all of the Bible that has anything whatsoever to do with salvation is wiped out by the phrase "...through faith...not by works..."! Is this really the foundational statement through which all of the Scriptures are to be interpreted?

Now working on the Bible study: "Toward The Reformation of Evangelicalism / The Teachings of Yeshua! / (And Check Your Translation!)" -- Showing how at least some of Evangelicalism misunderstands such things as the original meaning of John 3:16 (as its original context was certainly the Law of Moses and the word that is translated as "believe" really means to obey and follow, cf. at least the NIV's translation of Ex. 19:9; cf. Response #26 in "Questions and Responses!") and how it takes Paul's rabbinic argument of "...through faith...not by works..." (which Paul used for the purpose of showing that the Law of Moses is not part of the New Covenant (cf. Rom. 3:28-31; cf. Rom. 3-5) and that Yeshua Jesus is now the only way, cf. Acts 26:12-20! Re-examine Rom. 1-3!) as the one and only salvation principle, relegating all of the rest of the Scriptures, including all of the teachings of Yeshua Jesus (The "Word" of God; The Teacher; The One with the truth, Jn. 6:68!), even all the rest of the teachings of Paul! (read 1 Cor. 5; 2 Timothy and Titus) to having nothing to do with salvation whatsoever, and to being totally unnecessary for salvation. These misunderstandings have led (and are still leading) countless people to backslide to their spiritual destruction and countless people to remain lost, all the while believing that they had become saved! (Hos. 4:6 is just as true today!) And thus some of the great problems! It truly is a great problem to re-interpret and misinterpret the teachings of Yeshua Jesus, which really should be the center of Christianity (He is the Word and it is His Church), through the misinterpretation and misuse of Paul's rabbinic argumentation against the Law of Moses as being part of the New Covenant (cf. Rom. 3:28-31! This was Paul's great battle! Re-read his writings! Notice Rom. 4:12 and study the life of Abraham. Notice also Jn. 8:39 which Paul surely knew!) as the central truth by which all other Scriptures must be interpreted, instead of using the true center, the words of Yeshua Jesus, to help interpret the Jewish rabbi Paul's notoriously difficult rabbinic writings (everyone reads them differently! cf. 2 Pet. 3:14-18)! Warning! If you are not following the flat (relatively uninterpreted) teachings of Yeshua Jesus, you are heading in the wrong direction! See Mt. 28:18-20! See "Some Important Things Being Missed!" Study Mt. 25 and also the letters to the 7 Churches in Rev. 2-3 (which are still for us today!)! Please wake up! Please warn others! Think about it, doctrines that teach or imply that knowingly living in sin is exceptable are not from God! (What is your money supporting?)

What is the greatest external threat to Christianity on Earth? Aside from satan, himself, it is actually Islam! (This site does not promote or approve of the hatred of any person--hating people is sinful.) According to world history and current world events and the document Revelation, it does appear that radical Islam is the end-times beast that will (temporarily!) dominate the world--Christianity included!--prior to the return of Messiah Christ (see "THE PROSTITUTE AND THE BEAST" in "End Times"; see this video about the growth of Islam (accessed 8/24/10))! Our government is currently trying to charm this beast in hopes that this will keep this beast from digging its fangs into us as it works to coil itself around us (and this is in progress!). And this while the blind prostitute society is saying that it is not harmful! (Kind of like the myth: "sharks are not dangerous, they are just misunderstood"!)

Warning! Many are misunderstanding the teachings of Paul (and this is from Scripture! See 2 Pet. 3:14-18! Cf. Rom. 3:8.). Paul is being misunderstood in a large part because many do not understand that Paul's teaching about salvation being through "faith" and not "works" was Paul idiomatically explaining that salvation is no longer obtained through following the Law of Moses or, for Gentiles, following YHWH through doing good works (e.g., the greatest commandments; and not doing the bad works such as murdering, committing adultery, stealing, hurting and damaging others with lies, etc.), but only through the faith/covenant-keeping/faithfulness of Yeshua Jesus (in other words, Yeshua HaMashiach, Jesus the Messiah/Christ, is the only way to be saved). Paul himself explains in part what he was teaching in Acts 26:20 where Luke quotes him as saying: "...I preached that they [both Jew and Gentile! (see context)] should repent and turn to God and prove their repentance by their deeds [in concert with John the immerser and Yeshua Jesus!]." Gal. 3:26 shows that Paul was teaching that Messiah Christ is the only way and that the faith that saves is the faith that Yeshua HaMashiach had, displayed, and still has, saying: "For youu ["youu" showing that this word is plural in the Greek] are all sons through the faith that is in/inside Messiah/Christ Yeshua/Jesus. For as many of youu as were immersed into Messiah/Christ, youu have put on Messiah/Christ."

Many also do not understand that the roots of Christianity are Hebraic covenant faith roots and that Paul's teachings are consistent with this. Christianity was given in the context of Hebraic covenant faith (within the context of Torah and the Law of Moses; see "Hebrew OC 'Roots'"; see also how Acts 10-11 shows that the first Christians had to have been keeping at least part of the Law of Moses!--much more below!) Paul was teaching to be following Messiah Christ. He said: "Be being/becoming imitators of me just as also I am an imitator of Messiah/Mashiach/Christ"! (1 Cor. 11:1; see also Eph. 4:20; 5:1). Paul was a disciple of Messiah Christ and he knew His teachings (cf. 1 Tim. 6:3-5; 2 Cor. 11:4; Mt. 28:18-20). Paul also said at the end of 1 Corinthians: "If anyone is not loving the Lord/Master/Owner/Ruler [Yeshua Jesus], let him be accursed/anathema!..." (1 Cor. 16:22). What did Paul mean by "loving the Lord/Master/Owner/Ruler"? Since Paul was a follower of Messiah Christ and His teachings (in concert with Mt. 28:18-20!), he had to have been referring to Messiah Christ's teachings (cf. 1 Tim. 6:3-5; 2 Cor. 11:4) that those who were keeping His commands were the ones who were loving Him (Jn. 14:21; 14:25)! See also Jn. 15:10 where Yeshua Jesus said that it is those who keep His commands who are remaining in His love! Consider also Shaul/Paul's words in Gal. 6:7-8: "Do not be being deceived--God is not mocked; for whatever a person sows, this also he will reap. For the one sowing unto his own flesh will reap corruption from the flesh, but the one sowing unto the Spirit will reap from the Spirit age-long/eternal life."

See also Eph. 5:5-12: "For this youu have known [see the prior verses concerning holy living], knowing that every sexually immoral one or unclean one or greedy one, which [greediness] is idolatry, is not having inheritance in the Kingdom of Christ and God. Let no one mislead/lead_astray/deceive youu with vain/empty works. For on account of these things the wrath of God upon the sons of disobedience. Do not, therefore, be being co-partakers of/with them [of their sins, unholiness and coming judgment!]. For youu were at one time darkness, but now light in the Lord/Master/Owner/Ruler, as children of light be walking_around/living. For the fruit of the light is in all goodness, righteousness [doing the right things, or "works", and avoiding the bad things or "works"], and truth/faithfulness [!covenant-keeping!], testing/proving what is pleasing [!] to the Lord/Master/Owner/Ruler, and do not be being co-partners/co-sharers with/in the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather even be rebuking [!]. For the things being done/worked in hiding by them are shameful even to be saying/speaking..."

These are only a few proofs among many that Paul had to have been teaching a Hebraic covenant faith--one in which following and obeying Yeshua Jesus and striving for faithfulness is required. Christianity is a Hebraic covenant faith (see more in "The Faith That Paul Taught" in MCBI!) and those who accept it are required to be keeping their side of the covenant agreement. (See more in "The Covenant Command of the New Covenant"!) As opposed to the apparently wide-spread belief, striving to keep covenant with YHWH is not buying or earning salvation. Salvation is a gift from God (Eph. 2:8-9) but it is given within the framework of Hebraic covenant and keeping covenant with YHWH through Yeshua Jesus, keeping faith with Him, is required (Heb. 10:26-31, 35-38; cf. 6:5-6). Keeping covenant with YHWH through Yeshua Jesus is one of many things addressed in this website.

Concerning Paul's teachings on faith and faithing (see more in "The Faith That Paul Taught"), to be sure, Paul was teaching that man does not have to be perfect in order to be saved (because no one is and no one can be: everyone needs Yeshua HaMashiach!), but he was in no way teaching that Christians need not be striving to be following and obeying their Example and Lord/Savior/Owner/Ruler. His point in Rom. 3:21-26 and Eph. 2:8-9 was simply that no longer are people saved by keeping the Law of Moses (cf. also the implication of Rom. 3:31; cf. 2 Cor. 11; Galatians) or, by Gentiles following YHWH outside of the Law of Moses (as many were saved this way before Yeshua Jesus' New Covenant), but now the only way to be saved is through Yeshua HaMashiach! And He makes it clear in the rest of his writings that one must be following and obeying Yeshua Jesus in order to be saved.

Eph. 2:8-10: "For you have been saved/rescued/delivered by grace [because everyone is a sinner and because salvation only comes from being given by God] through faith/faithing [here: either system of Hebraic covenant faith and/or Hebraic covenant faithing into & while spiritually inside Yeshua Jesus and/or the perfect, sinless faith of Yeshua Jesus (all of these possibilities can be supported by Paul's other writings, but, if this was about man's faithing (cf. Rom. 4:5), it would be putting the focus of salvation on man and his faith; therefore Paul may here be referring to the system of faith (cf. Jude 3) and/or the faith of Yeshua Jesus and that is accessed by man entering into covenant with YHWH through Yeshua Jesus)--salvation now comes only through Yeshua Jesus and it is through His faith--through His perfect, sinless faith--He made the way by living a perfect and sinless life and salvation is only inside Him] and this [this salvation; this is probably not referring to "faith" or "grace" here because the word "this" is neuter in the Greek and both "faith" and "grace" are feminine, but if it is referring to "faith", it is referring to the system of faith the faith of Yeshua Jesus] is not from you, it [your salvation] is the gift of God, not from works [Paul, the rabbinic scholar, shows us that technically salvation cannot simply be achieved by man on his own or earned and that salvation no longer comes from the prior systems of working the commandments of YHWH (for Gentiles and those living prior to the Law of Moses) or working the Law of Moses because salvation is now only through the grace of Yeshua Christ (cf. Acts 15:10-11! and Gal. 2:15-16) and His perfect faith and His system of faith--faithing into Him and faithing while inside Him.] so not anyone can boast; for we are a work/product(_of_work), having been created in Messiah/Mashiach/Christ Yeshua/Jesus [Mashiach Christ worked the perfect work and YHWH creates us as a new creature in Him], for [a connecting marker showing reason and/or purpose; God saved us..] the purpose of good works ["works" is idiomatic for how one is living, what one is thinking and doing, it is not merely referring to things such as teaching and doing mission work] which God prepared in advance in order that we walk in them [God saved us for the purpose of doing good works in Messiah Christ! The New Covenant Scriptures teach that those who are not doing "good works"--those who are not living for YHWH through Yeshua Jesus and the Ruach HaKodesh and following the greatest commandments--are either lost or are at least in danger of being lost (Mt. 3:10, 19; see the parables of the sower (Mt. 13:1-9, 18-23; Mk. 4:1-20; Lk. 8:4-15); Lk. 3:9; 13:1-9; Rev. 2-3]."

This understanding of Paul's writings can be attested to by the rest of Paul's writings, and even by the writings of the early Church. See "The Epistle of Polycarp to the Philippians" in "According to Early Christians".

What cannot be supported by the rest of the teachings of Paul: 1) that one need not repent of their sins in order to be saved; 2) that one need not be striving for sinlessness and holiness; 3) that one can remain living in sin and be saved; 4) that one who accepts Yeshua Jesus can return to living in sin and still be saved while living in sin; 5) that works are not required; 6) that "faith" means only believe; 7) that "faith" means only believe and trust (For more concerning biblical salvation faith, see "The Faith That Paul Taught / (Toward Understanding Paul)"); 8) that those doing good works believe that these good works buy or earn their salvation with YHWH and that they are not saved by grace through faith and through the blood of Yeshua Jesus; 9) that those who believe they must be working in order to do their part in becoming saved or in order to remain saved are lesser Christians or are not saved; 10) that good works mean being unsaved or lead to being unsaved; 11) that good works and those who do good works are the enemy; 11) that those who believe in covenant faithfulness are the enemy.

Paul was an ancient Jewish rabbinic scholar who was viewing salvation from a particular and more technical perspective. Despite the cherry-picking of a handful of translated verses from out of the overall context of Paul and the rest of the Scriptures, Paul's writings do not support that all one needs to do to be saved is to believe or even to believe and trust. See "The Faith That Paul Taught / (Toward Understanding Paul)". Why is this so important? Because it appears that there are a great many people who have died lost and who are living and dying lost but who believe that they are saved because they are believing or believing and trusting in Yeshua Jesus even though they are living in sin. Paul clearly taught that those who are living in sin are lost. The belief that one can be living in sin and still expect to be saved is one of, if not, the greatest deceptions in the Church and this deception is in part because people are not reading all the rest of Paul's writings. It is also unnecessarily dividing the Church.

Yet people are also being taught that those who believe that works are required are in error and should not be fellowshipped, even though other Scriptures clearly teach that works are required (Jms. 2:14-26). Paul did not teach that those who believe that works are required are in error and he would have greatly disapproved of this division. This would also be dividing against the first Church, the mother Church of Jerusalem, because they believed that the Law of Moses was still a requirement and they were still following the Law of Moses (more below). Paul did teach against unnecessary division (Rom. 14; 16:17-18; 1 Cor. 1-3; Gal. 5:20; Titus 3:10-11)

A word of caution: This website will almost certainly test at least some aspect of your understanding of the faith because the chances are greater than 99.9% that you are not actually reading the Scriptures in their original language and neither are your leaders. (Can you question your beliefs? Does your church/Church allow you to question your beliefs?) The Christian world is in great confusion. There have been built up too many denominational walls (many more than what the Scriptures give authority for!). And the Scriptures teach that denominationalism is sinful (1 Cor. 1-3; Gal. 5:20; Titus 3:10-11). Many of our leaders are denominationalists (many unknowingly) who cannot read the Scriptures in their original language! Many are left not knowing what to believe. There is a lot of counterfeit truth out there as the forces of evil have been working on this and the dividing up of God's people for millennia! Thank God that truth is in the Scriptures and it can be seen and understood much, much better from reading the original languages (and not just word studies--word studies rarely address grammar and idiom, not to mention context), but only if one is actually looking for truth (many are apparently seeking only to validate their denomination and condemn the others). And it is not as easy as many think--just look at the many and differing translations and countless denominations. Among the problems--the lack of appreciation and understanding of the rich idiom of these languages that are ancient (by multiple millennia!) and cultures removed! Another problem--the theology of the translators and their understandings and misunderstandings of what the very difficult original languages and Scriptures are saying. Do you know what the Scriptures in their original language are saying? Can you really tell by reading translations which translations are closer to the meaning of the original language and which are closer to the theology of the translators? A great many times truth can be found within the context of all of the other Scriptures, the context of the Hebraic Old Covenant "Roots" of the Scriptures and the records of the earliest Christians. (Are your teachers showing you these things?) Prepare to be challenged. Prepare to test your truth. (If one does not have access to studying the Scriptures in their original language, the next best thing is to have several translations to compare against. We often comment on the KJV and NIV.) Those who are likely to take offense at this material: 1) hyper-denominationalists; 2) many who have misunderstood Paul (see the great and serious warning against this in 2 Pet. 3:4-8!!!)

What does the modern Church misunderstand most about the Scriptures and Christianity? One of, if not, the greatest misunderstanding in modern Christianity has to do with the lack of understanding that Christianity is actually a Hebraic covenant system with a covenant law. Without this understanding there is much confusion about the relationship between Christians and YHWH God and the responsibilities of Christians. This is addressed in part in "The Covenant Command of the New Covenant". And actually there is still a great lack of understanding about the Hebraic Old Covenant "Roots" of Christianity. This is addressed in part in "Hebrew Old Covenant 'Roots'".

What is the greatest deception? There is much deception. The most dangerous deceptions we are seeing are theologies in Christ's own Church and which are dividing Christ's Church. These begin with the teaching or at least implications that Christians can be living in sin and still expect to be saved--that Christians are not required to be striving for obedience! (Of course Christians cannot be perfect, but do not be deceived, they must be striving to be or else they are abusing grace, overtesting YHWH and neglecting their salvation!) There appear to be a great many who have died lost in and because of this deception and a great many who are living in sin who believe they will be saved but who will die lost unless they are living a life of repenting of their sins and striving against sin.

Please do not be misled: those who are living in sin will be lost, only those who are striving against sin will be saved. It really should not be that difficult to understand. Also, theologies that teach or imply that people living in sin will be saved, are not from God, but from satan, the enemy who is working to destroy as many souls as possible!

Part of the difficulty is that some have been misunderstanding the teachings of Paul (see the great and serious warning against this in 2 Pet. 3:4-8!). Some understand (actually misunderstand) from Paul's teachings that one does not have to be striving against sin in order to be saved. Only a few statements by Paul (taken out of the context of Paul and all of the other Scriptures) can be made to appear that he might be teaching this. Many have fallen out through this crack (in part because of the lack in understanding Hebraic covenant faith). Do not be fooled--Paul could not possibly have been teaching that people who are living in sin will be saved. Think about it: Could the Scriptures really be teaching that one can be living in sin and be saved?

That Paul could not possibly have been teaching that people could be living in sin and be saved is clearly shown by the rest of his teachings (see "The Faith That Paul Taught"). And there are better (and these Scriptural) understandings of what Paul taught. Actually, this all stems from the Church's loss of the understanding of covenant with YHWH! Paul understood the "Law of Messiah/Mashiach/Christ" (1 Cor. 9:21; Gal. 6:2) and this shows that he understood that YHWH requires man to keep His law (cf. Mt. 28:18-20). This also indicates that Paul did understand that salvation was a matter of keeping covenant with YHWH! (i.e., keeping YHWH's covenant law. See "The Covenant Command of the New Covenant"!) See Rom. 13:8-10 "Let no debt remain outstanding, except the continuing debt to love one another, for he who loves his fellowman has fulfilled the law. The commandments, 'Do not commit adultery,' 'Do not murder,' 'Do not steal,' 'Do not covet,' and whatever other commandment there may be, are summed up in this one rule [or commandment]: 'Love your neighbor as your self.' Therefore love is the fulfillment of the law." This is "The Covenant Command of the New Covenant"!

Do not be fooled, those who are living in sin, even if they believe that the Scriptures condone this, will be lost. What Paul was teaching can be seen by the entire context of what Paul taught and by the context of the other Scriptures. If Paul was teaching that one could be living in sin and be saved, he would be teaching against all the other Scriptures and he would have been a heretic.

Did you know that dividing over the Law of Moses can be sinful? "But avoid foolish controversies and genealogies and arguments and quarrels about the law [includes the Law of Moses], because these are unprofitable and useless. Warn a divisive person once, and then warn him a second time. After that, have nothing to do with him. You may be sure that such a man is warped and sinful; he is self-condemned." (Titus 3:9-11; NIV).

Did you know that Paul was keeping parts of the Law of Moses (though not all!; see Acts 16:3; 21:17-26; "Introduction" in "Galatians 2") and was teaching that it was a matter of opinion over which Christians should not be condemning or judging each other? (See Col. 2:16-17 in the KJV (the NIV mistranslates this); see Rom. 14! See "Introduction" in "Galatians 2"; cf. Eph. 2:8-10.)

Did you know that the very first Church was Jewish and they were keeping the Law of Moses (at least for a while!)? Why else did the leaders of the first Church not know what to do with Gentiles?! Up until Acts 10 the Jewish Church believed that all the uncircumcised were unclean! In fact up until Acts 10 the first Church did not have permission to not keep the Law of Moses! See Acts 11:1. See Acts 10 and 11. Really wishing to restore the Church back to Acts 2? (See "What is the oldest form of Christiantiy?" and a discussion of the place to which Christianity should be restored in "Questions & Responses") See "Galatians 2" in "Translation and Commentary" which also helps to answer questions concerning Messianic Judaism as it shows that Paul was not teaching that Christians could not observe the parts of the Law of Moses that did not conflict with Christianity, else Paul would have been condemning himself because he was himself still observing parts of the Law of Moses! He would also have been condemning the early Church as he knew that they were still observing parts of the Law of Moses! (See Acts 21:17-26.)

Many will not be interested in the contents of this website. In short, our journey for truth has led us away from translations as a source of theology (because of their weaknesses, theological and denominational biases, limitations and errors because they are translated by fallible man) and into the Scriptures in their original languages. (Those who have never tried to study or understand another language may have difficulty understanding this.) We have also found that doing word studies in the original languages falls short of the understandings attained through studying the grammar, idiom and context of the words in the original languages. (And there are several word-study fallacies that are important to be aware of.) Some of the things that we believe we are finding as problematic based upon our observations and studies include:

1) Hyper-denominationalism within modern Christianity (There are many Scriptures teaching that this is sinful. See "Essentials of Messianic Christianity"; see "More Messianic Christian Beliefs"; see "The Rise of Denominationalism" (like many things in this website: a work in progress). Unnecessary division is sinful (cf. Rom. 14; 16:17-18; 1 Cor. 1-3; Gal. 5:20; Titus 3:10-11).

2) The wide-spread belief that Christians who are willingly living in sin are still saved even while they are willingly living in sin (This is a great misunderstanding of the writings of Paul; see the warning concerning this in 2 Pet. 3:14-18!; see "The Faith That Paul Taught"; see "Essentials of Messianic Christianity"; see "How Can I Be Saved?"; see "Are You living (following) Christ?" below)

3) The wide-spread belief that all that is required to be saved and to remain saved is to believe or trust in Jesus, that obedience to God and following Yeshua Jesus are not required (This is a great misunderstanding of the writings of Paul; see the warning concerning this in 2 Pet. 3:14-18!; see "The Faith That Paul Taught"; see "Essentials of Messianic Christianity"; see "How Can I Be Saved?"; see below "Are You living (following) Christ?")

4) Much confusion and much lack of understanding about what God considers to be the important things within Christianity (see "The Covenant Command of the New Covenant"; see "Essentials of Messianic Christianity"; see "Some Important Things Being Missed")

5) A great lack of understanding of the important Hebraic Old Covenant "Roots" of Christianity (The loss of this understanding has led to much confusion! Without these understandings, the New Covenant Scriptures cannot be fully understood! See "Hebrew Old Covenant 'Roots'" and several other pages in this site)

6) Much confusion and misunderstanding of the writings of the apostle Paul! Peter warns about this in 2 Pet. 3:14-18, yet few seem to be aware of this verse. Many believe that Paul taught a different Christianity than the other apostles and even Yeshua Jesus! There are some key Scriptures showing that he was teaching the same Christianity (See more below; see "The Faith That Paul Taught")

7) Much confusion about the End Times, and worse, much division over the End Times! The End Times are important (or they would not be in the Scriptures), but where do the Scriptures give authority for the Church to divide over different end-times beliefs? The important thing is to be ready! Are you ready? (See "How Can I Be Saved?")

There is much confusion within Christianity, and even about Christianity itself! How does one determine truth in the maze and confusion of it all? Christianity has drifted away from its Hebraic Old Covenant rootings and away from the understandings of the early Christians. We believe that God has been leading us into greater understanding through systematic studies through reading and studying all the Scriptures in their original languages (not just in word studies) and in the context of all of the Scriptures (letting Scripture interpret Scripture), studying the Hebraic Old Covenant 'roots' of Christianity, and studying how the early Christians understood Christianity and the Scriptures. If you are interested in truth, and if your teachers are not reading and teaching from the original languages but rather from weak and bias-proned translations, and if they are not showing how the New Covenant Scriptures fit with the Old Covenant Scriptures and how the early Christians understood the New Covenant Scriptures, then how do you know that you are not just being taught traditions of men? Are you looking for truth?

Peter warns in 2 Pet. 3:14-17 that Paul's words are easily misunderstood and that people were misusing them--even to the point of losing their own souls! Seriously! The NIV says: "So then, dear friends, since you are looking forward to this, make every effort to be found spotless, blameless and at peace with him. 15 Bear in mind that our Lord’s patience means salvation, just as our dear brother Paul also wrote you with the wisdom that God gave him. 16 He writes the same way in all his letters, speaking in them of these matters. His letters contain some things that are hard to understand, which ignorant and unstable people distort, as they do the other Scriptures, to their own destruction. 17 Therefore, dear friends, since you already know this, be on your guard so that you may not be carried away by the error of lawless men and fall from your secure position."

It is important to understand this because many today are being lost because they are also misunderstanding and misapplying Paul's words. If you have not been taught about this important teaching, how can you know that you have understood Paul correctly? (See "The Faith That Paul Taught"; see Commentary on Romans)

1 John 2:4 says: "The one saying 'I know Him [God],' yet His commandments he is not keeping is a liar and the truth is not in this one." Does your Church teach this? If your Church is teaching that people do not have to be obeying God in order to be saved then they have been deceived and they are teaching false doctrine that is deceiving others! Please do not be deceived! God is keeping those who are following and obeying Him; all others will be lost! It is really not that difficult. As some say, "it takes a 'theologian' to help you misunderstand the Scriptures." Be warned: Teaching that excuses sin or leaves open a back door to disobedience is not from God!

Are you being taught, at least indirectly, that YHWH's greatest commandments are not the most important things for man to be doing? Are you being taught, at least indirectly, that salvation is ultimately only about what you believe and not what you are doing?

Did you know that Paul himself flatly told what he taught? In Acts 26 when he was before King Agrippa, Paul was telling King Agrippa what Jesus told him saying (picking up in the middle): "'...I [Yeshua/Jesus] will rescue you from your own people and from the Gentiles. I am sending you to them 18 to open their eyes and turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan to God, so that they may receive forgiveness of sins and a place among those who are sanctified by faith in me.' 19 So then, King Agrippa, I was not disobedient to the vision from heaven. 20 First to those in Damascus, then to those in Jerusalem and in all Judea, and to the Gentiles also, I preached that they should repent and turn to God and prove their repentance by their deeds" (Acts 26:17-20, NIV). This means that Paul's understanding of what Yeshua Jesus told him, including the portion that is translated as "sanctified by faith in me," equates to: "they should repent and turn to God and prove their repentance by their deeds" (as opposed to a mere belief or an English, and non biblical, non-committal type of trust)! And since he was not disobedient, this means that his writings must also equate to "they should repent and turn to God and prove their repentance by their deeds"!

Are you being taught this or a different gospel? Are you understanding Paul's words to be in agreement with these Acts 26 verses or are you being taught something else?--something else that also disagrees with the teachings of Jesus and His other apostles and the Scriptures such as James 2:14-26? (See "The Faith That Paul Taught"; see commentary on Romans).

It's really not that difficult to understand, those who are following YHWH by following Yeshua Jesus are the ones who are being saved, those who are not following YHWH by following Yeshua Jesus are not being saved. Those who are not teaching this are not teaching the truth.

Salvation really has very little to do with what man thinks he knows, it is about following and obeying YHWH through following and obeying Yeshua Jesus. (See "God Loves You and Wants to Save You!") Is it difficult to follow and obey Yeshua Jesus? Yes! By Yeshua Jesus' own words, most will be lost! Mt. 7:13-17 says (NIV): "Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. 14 But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it. 15 Watch out for false prophets. They come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ferocious wolves. 16 By their fruit you will recognize them. Do people pick grapes from thornbushes, or figs from thistles? 17 Likewise every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit."

Are you being taught that it is partly up to you to find it? (Reread v.14!) Are you teachers telling you that it is about your "deeds" (Acts 26:20), about your "fruit"? If you are being taught that it is not about your deeds and fruit but about what you know or whom you think you know, it is my opinion that your teachers are "lost in Paul" and do not understand what he meant and are teaching something other that what Paul intended and may well be misleading souls into their destruction (2 Pet. 3:14-17)!

Are you being taught that works are not important or that one can lose their salvation by performing good works? This is a great misunderstanding of Paul. This is not at all what Paul taught. Paul was not teaching against good works. Paul was most certainly teaching that good works are required but should be viewed in the proper perspective (See Acts 26:20; See "The Faith That Paul Taught" see Titus commentary; see commentary on Romans and Galatians).

Are you being taught that Christians will be judged, evaluated and rewarded (and probably ranked!) according to their performance? Jesus said that even every word we speak will be judged (Mt. 12:36). He also taught that those not found producing good fruit (idiomatic basically for "living for Him") will be lost (cf. the parable about the fruitless tree in Lk. 13:6-9 that He said to cut down if it did not begin to produce fruit; cf. also Lk. 12:42-46 (but not in The Message version) cf. also the parables of the sower (Mt. 13; Mk. 4; Lk. 8). Jesus taught in the parable of the talents that those who had earned more would be given more (Mt. 25:14-30; cf. also Lk. 19:11-27) and He taught in the Sermon on the Mount that those who are following Him the closest would be called "great" in the Kingdom of Heaven while those who are not following Him quite as closely will be called "least" in the Kingdom of Heaven (Mt. 5:19-20). But are Jesus' words important? Yes! He is the Word of YHWH! And it appears that it will be by His words that man will be judged (Jn. 12:48)! Consider the places of honor that James and John once vied for (or at least their mom did) and Jesus' response to them (Mt. 20:21). Consider also the 24 who were chosen to be the 24 elders in Revelation 4. Paul also weighs in in 1 Cor. 3:10-15 teaching that man's works will be judged. He also teaches very clearly in Rom. 2:6-11 that those who are doing good works will be saved and those doing bad works will be lost, saying also that "God 'will give to each person according to what he has done'" (Rom. 2:6). See Gal. 6:7-10! Consider also the Heb. 4:11 statement (NIV): "Let us, therefore, make every effort to enter that rest, so that no one will fall by following their example [the disobedient portion of Israel] of disobedience."

Did you know that you may be participating in God's plan for the End Times of bringing many Jews to salvation through Yeshua Jesus? Paul taught in Rom. 11:25-31 that after the Gentiles receive Messiah Christ that then so would the Jews. God has allowed things to be the way they are (Gentile Christians awakening to their Hebraic OC (Old Covenant) roots and seeking out the Hebraic meanings and causing many Jews to become interested in all this as well) in order to facilitate the bringing in of the Jewish people and the bringing together of the Jews and Gentiles in Christ (Eph. 2:11-16).

On the lighter side: Did you know that God intended for everyone to be cross-eyed?! Yes! He does not want anyone to be lost (2 Pet. 3:9); He wants everyone to be saved and thus to be seeing everything from the perspective of the cross of Yeshua Jesus! Cf. Eph. 2:16; Gal. 6:14.

But on the serious side, I have a warning. It appears that judgment is coming upon the United States through its failing economy and quite possible through more "natural" disaster and terrorism. Please read "Are you ready for the End Times?" below.

Many want to know: What is Messianic Christianity? and: Is it Scriptural? In short, according to the Scriptures, anything other than the way of salvation declared by the apostles that is added in as a test of fellowship or as an additional requirement of being saved, whether it is from the Law of Moses or anywhere else, is unscriptural. It is not the purpose of this website to add anything to the way of salvation that was taught by the apostolic Church or to take anything away from the apostolic Church (at least once they admitted Gentiles! For prior to this they must have been requiring the observance of the Law of Moses--see Acts 10-11; see also how the first Christians were continually at the temple (Acts 2:46; 3:1, 2, 3, 8, etc.) See "What is the oldest form of Christianity" in "Questions & Responses!"). At the same time, it is strongly believed that the Church has been so zealous to divorce itself from the writings of the Old Covenant (OC; due to things such as the misreading of Paul's writings) that it has in effect "thrown out the baby with the bath water" when it comes to some very important keys necessary for understanding the New Covenant (NC) and NC Christianity!

The NC was not created in a vacuum; in fact much of it consists of teachings and quotations from the OC. What many evidently do not realize is that when Paul was teaching against the Law of Moses being used as a requirement of salvation (cf. Galatians), he was not teaching the extreme position that all of the Law of Moses became illegal to practice (Paul continued to practice parts of the Law of Moses (Acts 18:21; 21:17-26)). Rather, he was teaching that the parts of the Law of Moses which did not conflict with Christianity could very well be practiced so long as they were not made to be requirements for salvation. This can be clearly understood in: his teachings such as Rom. 14 (e.g., what to eat and which day to observe are matters of opinion and not judgment; cf. also 1 Cor. 5:8); his own continued observance of portions of the Law of Moses (Acts 18:21; 21:17-26); his statements such as that his beliefs were in agreement with the Law of Moses and the prophets (Acts 24:14); and that he did nothing against the law of the Jews or against the temple (Acts 25:8). Paul was clearly teaching that the Law of Moses had become optional (Rom. 14; Col. 2:16) and that this was all well and good (Rom. 3:31; 7:16; 1 Tim. 1:8) so long as it remained optional and was not being used as a test of fellowship or a requirement for salvation (Galatians; Col. 2:14-23). Furthermore, there are some key teachings in the Law of Moses (such as the Greatest Commandments) that are just as applicable for us today as they were under the Law of Moses.

The Messianic Christianity with which this website is concerned, believes that there are some very important understandings in the Hebrew OC, even in the Law of Moses, that are fundamental to understanding YHWH's intended Christianity (e.g., the blood sacrifice of Jesus is more understandable when seen through the Law of Moses; the "Feasts" of YHWH and how they relate to the End Times, etc.). In fact, it is the belief of this website that without the Hebrew understandings of the Old Covenant, the NC (especially Revelation) cannot be fully understood and that this is a great reason for much of the tremendous confusion that exists in Christianity today.

Messianic Christianity is not a denomination; rather, it seeks to divest itself from divisive denominationalism and return to the heart of YHWH's intended Christianity--a spiritually unified, pre-denominational (the Christianity of the apostles after the admittance of Gentiles), apostolic Christianity that is connected to its Hebrew OC roots (and therefore, Messianic--Hebraic for having to do with the "Anointed" or the "Christ") as it also looks forward its soon-coming Messiah King! Thus the term "Messianic Christianity."

It is the aim of this Messianic Christianity to bring glory to YHWH (God the Father), Yeshua (Jesus) and the Ruach HaKodesh (the Holy Spirit) by: (1) striving to restore the Church to the pre-denominational apostolic Church after the inclusion of Gentiles and after the 1st Church conference (see "The Requirements of Acts 15"); (2) attempting to bring as many people to God as possible; (3) providing information and resources for those who are sincerely seeking truth from the Scriptures in their original languages and from a non-denominational perspective; (4) helping Yeshua's followers to understand and prepare for the End Times. (Much more can be seen at "What is Messianic Christianity?")

If you are truly seeking and have an open mind and heart, you are probably in the right place! Please consider the following:

Christianity has become fragmented into countless denominations, many believing to alone have the important truths. Yet it appears that most are suffering from similar problems including:

(1) requiring more doctrinal agreement from individuals who wish to join their denomination than what is required to actually become saved; in many cases they do not even include the all-important requirement of being on the journey of following Christ!

(2) formulating doctrines not from reading the Scriptures in their original languages, but from the interpretations of translators (which also include translators' short-comings and denominational biases), for translations are by definition the interpretations of translators ("translator"="interpreter"; Translations can also be misleading in that there are often multiple options for understanding the original and all options are not brought across and a smooth, English translation helps to gloss over the fact that the ancient Scriptures were written in ancient idiomatic thought and not in flat English legalese)

(3) misunderstanding the Hebrew OC (Old Covenant) roots of Christianity--failing to see that Christianity is a continuation and elevation of the OC and not something completely new and totally different (implying that God did not do it well enough the first time). Without the important OC understandings serving as interpretive controls, the NC (New Covenant) cannot be properly and fully understood (see Hebrew OC "Roots")

(4) many are misunderstanding Revelation and the End Times and are not preparing themselves spiritually, mentally or physically for the things that are quickly coming! I believe we are entering into a portion of the End Times "birth pains" (Mt. 24:8; Mk. 13:8)! We need wisdom! We must be preparing ourselves spiritually, mentally and physically! (see End Times)

Are you saved? If you are not saved or you are not sure, see: God Loves You And Wants To Save You!.

   Are you living (following) Christ? Peter warns in 2 Pet. 3:14-17 that Paul's words are easily misunderstood and that people were misusing them--even to the point of losing their own souls! Seriously, read it! It is important to understand this because many today are being lost because they are also misunderstanding and misapplying Paul's words, especially when it comes to his teachings regarding salvation through faith. Many today are under the impression that man can play no role whatsoever in his own salvation, as if man has no personal responsibility whatsoever with regard to his own salvation. This is to misunderstand both Paul's view of salvation faith and his semantics.
   Eph. 2:8-10 says: "For by grace you have been saved through faith [through the faith of Christ and through faithing into/in Christ; for more information on faithing into/in Christ this see: God Loves You And Wants To Save You!.]; and this is not from you, it is the gift of God--not from works, in order that not anyone should boast..." The gift being referred to in the phrase "and this is not from you," is almost certainly neither "grace" nor "faith" for the term "this" in the Greek is in the neuter gender while both "grace" and "faith" are in the feminine gender. This makes it much more likely that the gift being referred to is the gift of salvation and this appears to fit better with this gift being "not from works" (v. 9). Thus we have: "For by grace you have been saved through faith [both through Christ's faith and faithing into/in Christ]; and this [this gift of salvation] is not from you, it is the gift of God--not from works, in order that not anyone should boast..."
   Eph. 2:8-10 is saying that salvation is from God and that it is only through faith (through Christ's faith and through faithing into/in Christ). It is saying that man cannot save himself apart from the faith of Christ or apart from faithing into/in Christ--that man cannot make his own way to God. It is also saying that no one can be good enough to earn his own salvation (Jesus would then be unnecessary). It is in no way saying that man has no responsibility whatsoever with regard to his own salvation, and this does not in any way diminish the roles of God or of Christ in man's salvation. Christ is the one and only Pathway (John 14:6 and several others); God determines who is entering and when they are entering (John 1:13; cf. also John 15:1-6), but it is up to man to decide whether to accept or reject Christ and it is up to man to follow through with following Christ or not (cf. "everyone coming to Me" in Luke 6:47; and "the one coming to Me" in John 6:35, 37 and there are many other verses. John 6:37 shows that Christ will not be throwing out those who are truly being saved, but notice that it does not address those who are walking away from God. See especially 2 Tim. 2:19!).
   Also, Eph. 2:8-10 by itself is not and cannot be used as the complete understanding of Paul's view of salvation faith. The keys to understanding Paul's view of NC salvation faith can only be found in examining his other writings and statements about faith (see "The Faith That Paul Taught / (Toward Understanding Paul)").
   Rom. 1:17, for example, is a quote from Hab. 2:4 (another OC connection!) that can be interpreted as saying that the one who is considered by God as being righteous is the one who is living out his faith. Literally: "the just/righteous (one/man) will live [will be living his life] from faith/faithfulness/fidelity/covenant-keeping/faithing." Compare Hab. 2:4 in the Hebrew: "a righteous man will live by his faith."
   This is consistent with Paul's statement in 2 Timothy 2:19, the thought being captured well by the NIV, "Everyone who confesses the name of the Lord must turn away from wickedness." And this in no way conflicts with Eph. 2:8-10 but rather complements it for the context of Eph. 2:8-10 shows that Paul is talking to and about those who were no longer living in sin (Eph. 2:1-5) and thus who were obviously living for God through Yeshua Jesus. All the writings of Paul, I believe, clearly show that Paul was using semantics to argue for salvation in terms of Messiah Christ's faith as well as man "faithing into/in Christ Jesus" (finding and following Him) rather than in terms of works or laws that can lead to pride and heartless legalism--things that both God and Paul were clearly against!
   The literal wording of Rom. 1:17 can also mean that it is a righteous man's faith that saves him (see more in "The Faith That Paul Taught / (Toward Understanding Paul)") and this also does not conflict with, but rather complements Eph. 2:8-10, for salvation can also been seen as coming through an individual's faithing into/in Christ and not through performing works or obeying laws apart from Christ. Thus it appears that this is another case where there is a more than one meaning in the text (and multiple meanings are often difficult to impossible to bring accross in translation) for both interpretations (live="will be living his life" and "will not die spiritually") fit with Paul's writings. Among the evidence supporting the former understanding (that the man who is considered by God as being righteous is the one who is living out his faith) is the fact that Paul is linking NC salvation faith with OC salvation faith by quoting Hab. 2:4 (cf. also "from faith to faith"; as in "from [OC] faith to [NC] faith" in the same verse!) and it is quite clear that in order to be saved in the OC individuals had to be living out their faith (besides Hab. 2:4, see Ezek. 18!).
   Also, concerning Paul's rabbinical usage of Abraham and Gen. 15:6 in Rom. 4 to argue salvation by faith, Abraham was almost certainly living out his faith and saved (more evidence for the above views of Eph. 2:8-10 and Rom. 1:17) before the point in time of Gen. 15:6 (see Gen. 12:8 where "he called on the Name of YHWH"; see also Gen. 26:4-5; James 2:20-24 and Heb. 6:10-15). I do not believe that it can be successfully defended that up until the point in time of Gen. 15:6 that Abraham was lost or that he did not yet have faith. But sadly, many have misunderstood Paul's theocentric and christocentric, anti-legalism semantics (Paul is most certainly not anti-works, cf. Eph. 2:10; 2 Tim. 3:16-17, among many others) and his rabbinical argumentation and have been deceived into thinking that they can merely believe and/or trust, work a prayer, and then live however they please (not actually living out what they are professing), relegating all the rest of the Bible, even the greatest commandments, to merely optional suggestive advice! (This would also mean that James was wrong in James 2:21-26! Not to mention all of the teachings of Jesus (cf. also James 1:22)!)
   As Paul himself shows in Rom. 1:17, salvation faith is the same under the New Covenant as it was under the Old Covenant (living out one's faith by living for God) except that now salvation faith is lived out not merely by avoiding the bad works and doing the good ones (as with OC Gentiles) or by doing this through following the Law of Moses, but rather salvation faith is now lived out by following and living Christ--committing to Christ, truly making Him Lord and Master and being on the journey of following and obeying His examples, instructions, teachings and commands and allowing Him to live through us! (More information on living Christ can be found in the "Live Christ!" section in the tract: "God Loves You And Wants To Save You!") After all, individuals cannot truly call themselves "Christian" according to the biblical sense ("a follower of Christ," The New Strong's Dictionary of Hebrew and Greek Words) if they are not actually following Christ and living for Him.
   Consider Paul's statement in 1 Tim. 5:8 where he says, "If any person [male or female] is not looking out for the needs of [most certainly not limited to "bringing home the money for"--see the next statement!] his/her own people [relatives, not just immediate family; if this really meant "bringing home the money for" it would mean that everyone (both male and female) must be "bringing home the money for" at least all of their relatives!], and especially for the needs of those of his/her own house/family [this is more the "immediate family"], he/she has denied the faith and he/she is worse than an [male or female] unbeliever/unfaither." (More on this translation can be found in "The Covenant Command of the New Covenant" in the paragraph on 1 Timothy.) This is another teaching of Paul (one of many) that shows that his view of salvation faith was more than merely believing and/or trusting. (See more in "The Faith That Paul Taught / (Toward Understanding Paul)." Cf. also Gal. 2:20; John 12:24-26; Mt. 10:38-39; 16:24; Mark 8:34; Lk. 9:23.) Are you on the journey of living Christ?

The Lost Covenant Command of the NC--Just as many Hebrew OC understandings of Christianity became lost, evidently also was this understanding, at least for much of the Church. This should be a major and foundational teaching of Christianity, yet many have never heard it or seen it. After understanding this material, many will wonder how Christianity and the NC could have become so misunderstood. This information is critical to the Church. Are you ready for the End Times? The end of this age is quickly approaching and we are calling for everyone to be preparing themselves! Yeshua Jesus taught that everyone should always be ready (Mt. 24-25), and who knows when our own individual "End Time" will be! Much of the denominational world is (I now believe very much mistakenly) preparing only for escape "out of" the "birth pains" and tribulations by way of the 1 Thess. 4:17 rapture event. This event will certainly take place, but it now appears that it will not occur before the "tribulation" and all of the "birth pains" that are coming upon this world. While God will certainly be taking care of His people (Prov. 11:8), I believe the wise will be preparing themselves for the things that God is allowing to come upon this world (Rev. 17:15-17) and even bringing Himself (Rev. 18:4). Some who are sold-out for the pretribulation rapture and do not have any back-up plans should their interpretation of the End Times be wrong could lose their faith (cf. Lk. 18:8; 2 Thess. 2:3)! Consider the many statements of Jesus to watch and be prepared (cf. Mt. 24-25; Lk. 12:35-56). Those who are preparing only for escape through the rapture may have much of the information, but it appears that they do not have the correct order of the end-times events because they do not understand the timing of the events of Revelation. Be prepared--firstly, and most importantly, spiritually! (End Times)

*Messianic ("of or relating to Messiah") originates from the same Hebrew word as does the Greek NC (New Covenant) word that is translated into English as "Christ" (see Jn. 4:25). "Messianic" can be understood to be roughly equivalent to "Christian" ("of or belonging to Christ"), only from the Hebrew instead of the more Greek term "Christian." Messianic Christianity has much to do with Christians embracing the Hebrew OC (Old Covenant) "roots" of Christianity. Also among the desires of this ministry is to discourage the denominational division between Yeshua Jesus followers such as the division between Jewish and Gentile Yeshua Jesus-followers and to encourage understanding and unity between them. Messianic Christianity is not a denomination. Rather, it seeks to divest itself from divisive denominationalism and return to the heart of YHWH's intended Christianity--a spiritually unified, pre-denominational, apostolic Christianity (the Christianity of the apostles but after the admittance of Gentiles), that is connected to its Hebrew OC roots.
